Stefan de Vrij was Inter’s worst performer in their 2-1 comeback win over Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium, according to Italian media.

The Dutchman received a score of 4.5/10 from Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in the player ratings for the match published in today’s print edition, the lowest of anyone on the pitch.

De Vrij was far from his best in a display which saw him look overwhelmed by the pressure exerted by Alessio Dionisi’s Neroverdi team, with the worst moment being his underhit backpass which nearly got keeper Samir Handanovic sent off by sending Sassuolo’s Gregoire Defrel through on goal.

By contrast, Edin Dzeko is rated as the standout performer by the Gazzetta, given an 8/10 grade for his impact off the bench.

Samir Handanovic and Federico Dimarco also received 7/10 scores, while the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Nicolo Barella, Arturo Vidal, and Marcelo Brozovic were all awarded solid grades of 6.5/10 for their performances.
