Inter defeated Sassuolo 2-1 away on Match Day 7 of the 2021/2022 Serie A at the Stadio Mapei in Reggio Emilia.

The Nerazzurri started off poorly and Sassuolo dominated, deservedly taking the lead in the 22nd minute from the spot after a clumsy challenge by Milan Skriniar on Jeremy Boga.

Inter struggled throughout the first half and were lucky to be trailing by the solitary goal, mainly thanks to some excellent saves by Samir Handanovic.

In the second half Inter started worse and Sassuolo were still on the front foot. That is until the 57th minute when Simone Inzaghi made four changes which quickly changed the face of the game.

Less than 60 seconds after coming on Edin Dzeko equalized and some 20 minutes later he won a penalty which Lautaro Martinez converted.
