Ajax forward Dusan Tadic has given an update on the status of Inter target Andre Onana, who has been allowed to return from a one-year doping ban and is training with the first team squad of the Dutch champions.

Speaking in a press conference, as reported by FCInterNews, Tadic praised the Cameroonian goalkeeper’s qualities and stated that he would be happy to see him remain with Ajax, though his future remains in doubt.

Onana had been serving a doping ban, but it has now expired and he will be allowed to return to competitive action.

Apart from this, the 25-year-old has also yet to sign a new deal with his current club, and has been widely reported as a target for the Nerazzurri as a long-term replacement for Samir Handanovic, being potentially available for free next summer.

Tadic believes that the Cameroonian will make up his own mind, but also would like to see him continue on at the Amsterdam-based club.

“Yes he is back in training and in good shape,” Tadic explained, “Andre is one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Everyone knows it. He is an adult and should do what he thinks he is right for him. We can give him advice, but he decides.”
