Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi has been getting the best out of his first-choice striker partnership of Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez in front of goal, who are repaying his faith with a constant source of goals.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who highlight the role that the coach has played in bringing the best out of the free-scoring duo.

Inzaghi joined Inter from Lazio at the beginning of the summer, replacing Antonio Conte as head coach, and he found a top striker at the club in the form of Martinez, while Dzeko arrived in August as a replacement for last season’s top scorer and assister Romelu Lukaku whose departure rocked the club.

The coach also brought in Joaquin Correa from Lazio, a player with whom he had enjoyed a successful relationship while at the Bianconeri together, and the Argentine has made an impact from the bench on several occasions but not looked effective on either of his starts for the club.

Meanwhile, Dzeko and Martinez have been scoring goals at a steady rate in Serie A so far this season, repaying the coach’s willingness to make the pair his top options to lead the line.
