Inter have not gotten enough out of midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu since his summer arrival from AC Milan, and must make getting better performances from him a priority after the international break.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who highlight the disappointment around the Turkish midfielder’s performances in the early phase of the season as one key issue around the Nerazzurri.

The newspaper suggests that the 27-year-old impressed in his debut against Genoa, but ever since then he has not shown enough to replace the contributions of stricken midfielder Christian Eriksen whose performances were vital down the stretch last season.

Calhanoglu’s arrival from the Rossoneri on a free transfer had been a key piece of business in the Nerazzurri’s plans to rebuild the team following a number of major exits as well as the loss of Eriksen through health problems, and they have not seen that yet so more must be done to get the best out of him.
