Inter Could Be Forced To Play Lazio Without 5 Of Their South American Players, Italian Media Report

Inter’s five South American players currently on international duty could miss out on the Nerazzurri’s first Serie A fixture after the international break, against Lazio.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the club are considering the fastest possible ways to have the five players available for the clash which is set to take place little over a day after the last World Cup qualifiers for the South American teams.

Argentines Lautaro Martinez and Joaquin Correa, Chileans Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez, and Uruguayan Matias Vecino are all set to see their countries face three World Cup qualifiers with the schedule packed due to making up for fixtures which were postponed in the spring.

This was also the situation during the October international break, where the FA’s of the South American countries who had players at European clubs in their squads chartered flights to bring them back to their clubs as soon as possible once they were finished with their last international fixtures.

This could once again be the case, or if not, Inter and other Serie A clubs could work together to organize something similar.

In any case, the earliest that the players would be available would be on the night of Friday October 15, while the Nerazzurri are set to kick off their match against Lazio on the 16th at 6 PM CEST, and coach Simone Inzaghi will have to consider whether there is any chance of the players being prepared to play in the clash with the Biancocelesti.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri’s European internationals are set to return several days before the first match back from the break, and should be ready for action.
