Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella is set to start for the Italian national team in today’s Nations League clash with Spain.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who include the 24-year-old in their predicted lineup to be selected by Azzurri boss Roberto Mancini in the match.

Barella has become an important player not only for his club but also for his national team, starting consistently during the Azzurri’s triumphant EURO 2020 campaign.

Sky predict that coach Mancini will turn to what he largely considers to be his strongest eleven in a tough test against the team that they beat on penalties in the Euro semi-final, Spain, with Barella once again trusted as one of the team’s key men in the centre of the park.

Sky’s predicted lineup for the Spain clash this evening is as follows:

ITALY(4-3-3): Donnarumma; Di Lorenzo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Emerson Palmieri; Barella, Jorginho, Verratti; Chiesa, Insigne, Pellegrini.
