Inter could face competition for the signature of Andre Onana, with Catalan giants Barcelona reportedly also bringing the 25-year-old in next summer from Ajax.

This according to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, who claim that the Blaugranas are considering a swoop for the Cameroonian, though the Nerazzurri remain the favourites.

Onana has been earmarked by the Nerazzurri as the priority option to replace captain Samir Handanovic in the long term, and the club reportedly already have a verbal agreement on a deal to bring him in next summer when his contract with Ajax expires.

However, they could still face some competition for his signature with the likes of Napoli and Lyon also still interested, and above all Barcelona still admirers of the player.

Onana spent five years with Blaugranas youth teams, and he still has not finalized his decision so he could accept an offer from the Spanish side yet.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Onana would prefer to move to a club in Spain over making the switch to Serie A, but is also considering the sporting projects of prospective clubs, having been convinced by Inter.
