Former Inter and Napoli midfielder Stefano Bagni believes that at the moment, Inter and AC Milan are behind the Partenopei in the Serie A title race.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, the former midfielder gave the opinion that it is Napoli who have the edge over the Milan clubs in the chase for the Scudetto.

Inter have started the Serie A season unbeaten after seven matches, but their two draws leave them two points behind the Rossoneri and four behind perfect starters Napoli.

These three sides look to be the likeliest to contend for the Scudetto this season, but Bagni believes that it is the Partenopei in particular who have the advantage over the others in the title race.

Juventus, who had been tipped among the major contenders before the season, suffered a poor start to the campaign, though they look to have recovered with three wins on the bounce, but Bagni feels that they could be behind the other three still.

“I believe that Napoli are superior to Inter and Milan,” he stated, “whil Juve may have to settle for fourth spot this year.”
