Inter are one of a number of major European clubs interested in signing River Plate striker Julian Alvarez.

This according to today’s print edition of Argentine newspaper Olé, who report that the Nerazzurri are tracking the 21-year-old attacker who is out of contract with his current club at the end of December 2022.

Alvarez has garnered praise for his recent performances for River Plate, earning a spot in the Argentine national team with coach Lionel Scaloni likely to select him for the 2022 World Cup squad.

The 21-year-old has also attracted the interest of a number of top European clubs, with the likes of Ajax, Tottenham Hotspur, and AC Milan having been tracking him for some time, joined by Inter, Real Madrid, Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayer Leverkusen.

Alvarez’s current deal with the Argentine giants is set to expire at the end of December 2022, and contract talks with his club have not yet begun, though it remains to be seen if an agreement will be found on an extension.

The striker is valued at around €20 million by his club despite the presence of a release clause in his contract, and Inter could go head to head with a number of major European rivals for his signature.
