Lautaro Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano has affirmed that the Argentine striker is happy at the club and that renewing his contract is the right path forward.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, the agent spoke about the striker being content in Serie A and enjoying life with his Nerazzurri teammates including summer signings.

Martinez has enjoyed a strong start to the season, with five goals from six Serie A matches showing why the club want to keep a hold of him.

He looks to have struck up a good partnership with Edin Dzeko after the loss of his striker partner from the last two seasons Romelu Lukaku, and has also seen international teammate Joaquin Correa join the squad.

Camano made clear that the 24-year-old is ready to extend his contract past its current expiration at the end of June 2023, and that he is confident that it will happen.

“I can say that he is happy in Italy and he really likes Italian football,” Camano said of Martinez. “We have been discussing the renewal with Inter for some time. I am really confident, the path we have taken is the right one.”

He continued, “Serie A is an important league and different than a few years ago. Lautaro is very happy to play with high quality players like Edin Dzeko and Joaquin Correa. All three are terrible attackers for opposition defenders to deal with.”

And asked whether Martinez could possibly join Napoli he stated, “No, but I hope to be able, one day, to bring one of my clients to the Azzurri. I have a special bond with Napoli.”
