Former Juventus, Lazio, and Chelsea striker Pierluigi Casiraghi believes that Inter have the best chance of winning Serie A this season because they have the most complete squad.
Speaking to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport in an interview published in yesterday’s print edition, the 52-year-old stated that the Nerazzurri’s strength in all positions will give them an advantage over their rivals for the Scudetto.
Inter have enjoyed a strong start to the campaign with five wins and two draws, but they sit two points behind city rivals AC Milan and perfect starters Napoli.
The Nerazzurri will know that they have a difficult task on their hands defending last season’s Scudetto crown given the quality of this opposition.
However, Casiraghi believes that they will have enough to win the title once again, with their quality all over the pitch showing through over the full season.
“Napoli are wonderful, but Inter are still favourites for the Scudetto,” he said. “They are the most complete team, strong in all positions and even in attack they have lost little.”
He went on, “When you win many games it means that you have something. Then there is Milan but the favourites are always the Nerazzurri. Dzeko is different from Lukaku, he has less strength, but he has more technical quality.”
