Inter could intensify their efforts to being Andre Onana to the club in January rather than a free transfer in the summer of 2022, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Tuttosport today, the interest in the goalkeeper from other big European clubs such as Napoli and Barcelona could force the Nerazzurri into action.

Inter were hoping to agree on a contract with Andre Onana that would see him join the club for free next summer, but he could now have his head turned by other suitors.

That means Inter may decide to pay a small transfer fee to Ajax for the goalkeeper in January to assure that they definitely get the man that they have earmarked as Samir Hanadanovic’s replacement as the number one goalkeeper.

This move could risk upsetting the balance of the dressing room partway through the season with Simone Inzaghi will want to avoid.
