Inter will meet with the father of midfielder Marcelo Brozovic after the international break to begin the process of agreeing a contract extension.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the Nerazzurri have made finding an agreement on a new deal a top priority and will look to get the process wrapped up soon.

Brozovic’s current deal is set to run out at the end of June 2022 and the Nerazzurri do not wish to lose him on a free transfer come next summer given that he is a key midfielder at the club.

The meeting with his father on a renewal has been scheduled for after the break, though the negotiations will likely take more than one meeting to iron out the duration of the new contract, with the 28-year-old also asking for a significant wage increase from the net €3.5 million per season which he currently earns.
