Inter and Lautaro Martinez have finally agreed on a new contract for the striker and the official announcement from the club is expected soon, according to a report in the Italian print media.

As has been reported today by Corriere dello Sport, the Argentine striker has seen his salary more than doubled as part of the new agreement.

He will now earn €6.2 million per season as well as some bonuses on top of that. The other major change is that the €111 million release clause has been removed from the contract.

This allows Inter to earn potentially more money for the player should he continue to develop and richer clubs start to show an interest in him.

It appears the club were waiting to assess Lautaro Martinez’s early season form before they decided to hand him such a lucrative contract, but it is clear that he is capable of being the main striker for the side.
