The Mayor of Milan, Beppe Sala, still has some issues that need to be addressed around the development of a new stadium for Inter and AC Milan, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Repubblica, Beppe Sala confirmed that he will meet with the representatives of both clubs soon to discuss the regeneration plans further.

The main issues with the project at this moment appear to focus on the feeling of local residents. A remarkable amount of noisy and ugly building work will have to be undertaken to build a new stadium and entertainment complex, which many people do not wish to live by.

Another issue is that the land that will be built on is public and owned by the municipality rather than a private investor.

Finally, many within the sport and the city do not want to see the original stadium demolished and lost forever. A way to incorporate part of the old ground into the new one is being explored.
