The agent of former Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik has explained that he tried very hard to bring his client to Inter but he could not make it happen, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media today.

Speaking during an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, Marco Branca explained that the Slovakian midfielder’s incredible relationship with Napoli meant he could never convince him to make the move.

“Years ago I tried to bring Hamsik to Inter but his attachment to the team, the city and the fans were very important. So I gave up on it.”

Marek Hamsik was until very recently Napoli’s all-time leading goalscorer which is a testament to his immense talent.

He was one of the best midfielders in Serie A for many years whilst with the Partonopei before he departed in 2019 for the Chinese side Dalian.

He has since played for IFK Goteborg in Sweden and Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig. Before joining Napoli he played for Brescia and Slovan Bratislava.

He made a staggering 408 appearances for Napoli, scoring 100 goals in the process as well.
