Inter held transfer discussions with Torino striker Andrea Belotti during the summer transfer window but the move did not materialise, according to a report in the Italian print media.

As has been reported by La Stampa, Inter were genuinely keen on bringing the Italian striker to the club in the summer once Romelu Lukaku had departed for Chelsea in a €115 million deal.

Inter signed Edin Dzeko straight away but wanted a second striker to add more depth and quality to the position.

In the end, they decided to sign Joaquin Correa instead from Lazio late in the window. There is a very real chance that Andrea Belotti could still end up at Inter though.

He is not expected to sign a new deal with Torino and his current contract will expire in June 2022. This means he will be available on a free transfer and could replace Alexis Sanchez in the Inter squad.
