Inter could resume their pursuit of Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez in January, with the 25-year-old still a target despite the failure of their attempt to sign him in the summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri could look to convince the Rossoblu to part with him.

Nandez had been among Inter’s major targets during the summer transfer window, with the Uruguayan’s versatility making him especially attractive to the club, as he had shown under Leonardo Semplici that he can fill in on the right as well as in midfield.

The Nerazzurri were unable to agree on the terms of a deal with the Rossoblu, however, and in the end the player remained at his current club.

However, the interest in Nandez remains and in particular if Inter can get rid of the salary of Alexis Sanchez from their books they could move for him as early as the January transfer window.
