Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has recovered from a minor muscle problem and will play in Argentina’s World Cup qualifier against Uruguay, and could return to Italy early should he be booked in that match.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 24-year-old is one booking away from a suspension and so would miss the last match of the international break were he to receive a yellow card.

Martinez missed the Albiceleste’s first match of the international break, a World Cup qualifier against Paraguary, having picked up a bit of minor muscle fatigue in the preparations for that match.

However, he has already been cleared to return to the pitch, and it is likely that he will be included in the starting eleven to face Uruguay.

Should the striker pick up a booking in that match, then there would be no point in him remaining with the international team as he would not be able to participate in their last match, and he could be back with the Inter squad sooner than expected.
