Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic has become the subject of interest from the Nerazzurri’s city rivals AC Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Rossoneri could move for the Croat if Brozovic doesn’t extend his contract.

Brozovic’s current deal is set to expire at the end of June 2022, and the Nerazzurri have made extending with him a priority and will look to resolve his situation in the immediate future.

The 28-year-old is thought to be asking for a wage increase to €6 million net annually from the €4.2 million which he currently earns, though an agreement could probably be found at a lower amount as the player’s preference is to stay at Inter.

Milan are dealing with a contract situation of a key midfielder of their own, in the form of Franck Kessie whose contract is also set to run out next summer.

Should the Rossoneri fail to find an agreement with the Ivorian on a renewal, then they are monitoring Brozovic’s situation with a view to potentially swooping if talks stall with Inter.
