Bayer Leverkusen youngster Jeremie Frimpong has been heaping praise on Inter right back Denzel Dumfries as they are both from The Netherlands, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during an interview with NOS, as has been reported by FcINternews, Jeremie Frimpong was asked whether he is a better player than Denzel Dumfries.

“Obviously I choose me. Dumfries is a really good right back. That’s why he’s also number one in the Netherlands. And that’s why Inter took him. I’ll have to work hard, but I’m still young.”

Denzel Dumfries was signed by Inter quite late in the summer transfer window as they did not have the available funds for a long time until Romelu Lukaku was sold to Chelsea for €115 million.

The Dutchman had been training by himself away from the PSV Eindhoven squad all summer as he was convinced he would be moving to a bigger club after his impressive performances at Euro 2020 where he scored twice.

He has made a slow start to his Inter career so far but is expected to start more and more games in the near future.
