Fiorentina full-back Alvaro Odriozola believes that his team were unlucky to lose their matches against Inter and Napoli in Serie A so far this campaign.

Speaking to La Viola’s official social media channel, as reported by FCInter1908, the 25-year-old gave the view that his team had done enough to win in their matches against the first- and third-placed teams in Serie A despite getting no points from the two clashes.

La Viola had looked the stronger side in their clash with Inter, and the Nerazzurri had a string of top-quality Samir Handanovic saves to thank for going in at the interval only one goal behind.

In the second half, however, the Nerazzurri turned things around and got all three points against an opponent who looked to have run out of a bit of steam.

A similar pattern emerged in Fiorentina’s game against perfect starters Napoli, with Vincenzo Italiano’s men scoring the opener after looking bright before their opposition found the solutions and overhauled the deficit.

Odriozola, however, believes that more could have come from both of these matches, stating that “We lost to two teams (Inter and Napoli) who are at the top of the table, but we deserved to win. I feel great with my teammates.”
