Italian agent Massimo Brambatti believes that Inter must work to ensure that they keep a hold of midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, who is in the final year of his contract.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, Brambatti compared the situation of Brozovic to that of AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, who has also entered the final season of his contract.

City rivals the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri look to have a similar situation with their respective key midfielders, who they could lose for free once their current deals expire at the end of June 2022.

For Brozovic, the situation is especially significant given the importance of the Croat’s contributions on the pitch.

Since his arrival from Dinamo Zagreb in 2015 the midfielder has grown in importance, with last season under Antonio Conte showing that he could be the key midfielder for a Scudetto-winning side, and he already looks to be continuing on in this fashion under Simone Inzgahi.

“Without them both Inter and Milan lose,” Brambatti stated. “Brozovic became aware under Conte who gave him a place in midfield where he makes a big difference. And then you have to go and replace these elements.”
