Legendary former Inter striker Christian Vieri made up his mind to join the Nerazzurri because he wanted to play alongside then-Inter striker Ronaldo.

Speaking on his Twitch channel, as reported by FCInterNews, the 48-year-old explained the significance of playing for Inter for him and why it was important for him to make the move to play with someone he regards as the best player he ever played alongside.

Vieri represented a major signing for the Nerazzurri in the Nerazzurri in the summer of 1999, as he had established an extremely strong reputation for himself playing with Atletico Madrid and Lazio over the two seasons prior.

The former striker continued this form and cemented himself as one of the Nerazzurr’s greatest strikers of the modern era by scoring 123 goals in all competitions for the club, but as he revealed, his decision to join had everything to do with someone he regards even more highly.

“I left Rome because my dream was to play with Ronaldo,” he explained. “I don’t regret the choice of leaving the Biancocelesti to go to Inter despite that being the Scudetto season. The main reason for my transfer was him,  technically the strongest player I’ve ever played with.”
