Inter are looking to get the contract extensions of Lautaro Martinez and Nicolo Barella wrapped up with both players seen as important pieces for the club’s future.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the Nerazzurri are aiming to secure the duo’s future with Barella also lined up as a potential future captain at the club.

Copa America winner Martinez looks ready to commit his future to the Nerazzurri, with only the announcement remaining on a new deal following several weeks of productive talks on a renewal for him.

Barella, meanwhile, is a player who was promised a new deal with improved conditions at this point with the club, and meetings have already been held towards extending the midfielder.

The 24-year-old has shown himself to be one of the Nerazzurri’s midfielders while also attracting praise for his performances at EURO 2020 as he helped Italy win the tournament, and the club aim to give him improved wages which reflect his importance.
