Former Juventus and Italy coach Marcello Lippi believes that Inter are now in a three-way Scudetto race with AC Milan and Napoli.

Speaking at the Trento Festival of Sport, as reported by FCInterNews, the World Cup winner gave the view that the three teams currently at the top of the Serie A teams will be the likeliest to compete for the league.

Inter have enjoyed a strong start to the season with five wins and two draws in the league, but they are still two points behind city rivals AC Milan and four behind perfect starters Napoli.

Other teams remain within a few points of this trio at the top end of the table, but the early form of these sides suggest that any of the three could go on and lift the Scudetto.

This is the view of Lippi, who stated that he believes that they are the teams who have shown enough to suggest that they could go on and lift the Scudetto.

“Based on what we have seen, the teams with the best credentials are Milan, Napoli and Inter. Juventus have already made up ground from this kind of position and we must not exclude them too soon. I still see the others a bit behind.”
