Former Inter, Juventus, and Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro believes that Inter have the right qualities to keep themselves in a tough Scudetto race against Napoli.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, the former defender gave the view that the Nerazzurri have a solidity and cohesion which could see them through in this season’s title chase.

Inter have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the season, but still find themselves two points behind city rivals AC Milan and four behind the perfect starters Napoli.

Cannavaro spoke highly of league leaders’ Napoli and believes that with their qualities their perfect start to the season is no accident, and that the Partenopei could go all the way this season.

However, he also singled out the Milan clubs, and in particular Inter, as having formidable qualities themselves which will make life very difficult for Luciano Spalletti’s men in the table.

Of the Partenopei Cannavaro said, “With the whole team they fear no one and can really win the Scudetto. Spalletti has also changed a little, for the better. In the sense that without taking away the beauty of his game, he has become more concrete in what he gets from the players.”

“Whoever will want to win the title he will have to beat them and it will not be easy at all,” he went on. “The Milan clubs  are very strong, especially Inter and not only because they have the Scudetto on their chest. The Nerazzurri are a strong and compact team.”
