Inter wing-back Ivan Perisic could be offered a contract extension beyond next summer, but at reduced terms compared to his current deal.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that in spite of some reports that the Croat would not be offered a new deal, the club could still offer to keep him on.

Perisic’s current deal is set to expire at the end of June 2022, and should he not sign an extension he could leave on a free transfer next summer.

However, the 32-year-old’s performances have remained solid this season and he is still seen as a valuable contributor at the club, so could be handed a new deal yet.

Perisic currently earns a net of €4.6 million per season, an amount which would be offered in any proposed new deal, but the club could an offer worth €3 million per season for one or two more seasons, which would be about a 30% reduction and in line with the extensions offered to other players over thirty.
