Italian journalist Matteo Marani believes that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has yet to really make his influence felt at the Nerazzurri as he had at former side Lazio.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the journalist gave the view that the Nerazzurri boss must establish a similar situation at Inter to the one that he did at his former club.

Inzaghi was the head coach at the Biancocelesti for more than five seasons, taking over from Stefano Pioli after having spent time coaching the youth teams, and he put in place an identifiable style of play and tactical approach which was the foundation for success.

So far, the 45-year-old has taken over from Antonio Conte at Inter and has begun to get the team playing his way, but for Marani, he has yet to really show the same kind of impact on the club that he did while at Lazio.

“Inzaghi left his mark on Lazio, a brand,” the journalist stated. “His work in Rome was exceptional, for him at the Olimpico it will be a touching moment. He will have to transfer his trademark to Inter with a lot of pressure that comes from the fact that he is working with the Italian champions.”

He went on, “It will be a special moment. It is right to point out the transfer window done by Inter in their emergency. The first move was to take Inzaghi, the one closest manager to Conte.”
