Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni are a top side among national teams, and believes that they are not a side who other national teams want to have as opponents.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the 22-year-old was confident after the Azzurri defeated Belgium 2-1 to take third place in the UEFA Nations League.

Italy showed their qualities when they won the Euros over the summer, and Bastoni believes that they are still continuing in this vein and that they have remained one of the teams to beat among international sides.

Coach Roberto Mancini can call upon top players throughout the squad, and as Bastoni explains, the motivation and intensity remains to keep up the level and not to fall off from the Euro-winning form.

The 22-year-old believes that the Azzurri can keep playing at the level which they have been and establish themselves as a dominant force in international football going forward.

“Surely there are many who do not want to face us, not only Belgium,” he stated. “We are a strong team, we showed it at the European Championship and we want to continue to show it with new players. The shirt is the same, the motivations are always great.”
