Inter forward Joaquin Correa has been left out of the Argentine national squad to face Peru as he will stay in Argentina for tests on a muscular fatigue problem that has been bothering him.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the 27-year-old will not travel with the rest of the squad as he is checked for the muscular problem.

Correa started the Albiceleste’s first qualifier of the international break against Paraguay before appearing as a substitute in the second half of the second against Uruguay on Sunday.

The 27-year-old had been in training with the rest of the squad in preparation for the upcoming clash with Peru but looks to have picked up a knock in training which will rule him out of the match.

Nerazzurri manager Simone Inzaghi will await the results of the tests that Correa undergoes with Argentina’s medical staff in the hopes that the problem is nothing serious and does not cause him to miss much time for his club.
