Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni’s agent has clarified that the 22-year-old is committed to the Nerazzurri and that he is not currently considering a move away from the club amid interest from top European clubs.

As reported by Italian news outlet FCInter1908, the player’s agent Tulio Tinti explained that the defender intends to honour his contract with the Nerazzurri which he signed over the summer.

Bastoni has become an important player for the Nerazzurri in defense, and his performances have also earned him a role in the Italian national team which he has recently received praise for.

These displays have further ignited the interest of a number of top European clubs, with the 22-year-old considered a major prospect in defense.

However, as Tinti clarified, Bastoni is concentrating on his current club and is not currently thinking about a move away given that his current deal runs until the end of June 2024.

“Bastoni signed a contract three months ago,” Tinti explained. “Newcastle haven’t been in contact about him yet. He is very happy to be at Inter, there is no problem. Football clubs are companies and they have to deal – Chinese ownership has problems, or it sells or has to get by in another way. They are private companies, they manage their ownership.”

Regarding a possible sale of Bastoni he stated, “We would examine things, but he has signed a contract and my players and I respect them. He has been an Inter fan since childhood, there are no problems with him.”
