Former Palermo and Genoa Sporting Director Rino Foschi believes that Inter are behind Napoli in the race for Scudetto, but otherwise ahead of the rest of the pack.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster 1 Station Radio, the former executive gave the view that the Nerazzurri are a step behind the Partenopei after seven matches, but that they have a better chance at the Scudetto than city rivals AC Milan.

Inter have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the Serie A campaign, but their two draws mean that they are two points behind the Rossoneri and four behind perfect starters the Partenopei in the table.

For Foschi, Napoli’s early season momentum is a sign that they are strong enough to go on and lift the Scudetto, and he considers them to be favourites.

However, he does not think that the Rossoneri are ahead of defending Italian champions Inter in the Scudetto race, nor any of their other major rivals.

“I put Napoli in first place,” Foschi stated, “thanks especially to Spalletti. Followed by Inter, who are the team to beat, and Milan, who are, however, a step behind.”
