Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu must find consistency at the club and repay the faith of manager Simone Inzaghi in his performances for the club.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who argue that the coach wants to make the Turkish midfielder a central part of his project but that the player must do more to prove himself in a Nerazzurri shirt.

Calhanoglu enjoyed a strong start to the season, impressing on his debut against Genoa and capping off a strong performance with a goal and an assist.

However, he has not shown his qualities on a consistent basis for much of the season since then, and the Corriere argue that he must begin contributing more from Saturday’s match against Lazio onwards.

Inzaghi looks to be aiming to use Calhanoglu in a similar role to Luis Alberto when he was in charge of Lazio, and so far the Turk, who joined from AC Milan in the summer, has not quite shown the qualities necessary for the role.

However, the manager is not expected to give up on Calhanoglu, who he intends to be a key midfielder in implementing his style of play successfully at the Nerazzurri.
