Italian journalist Riccardo Cucchi believes that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has already made the Nerazzurri into a team in his image.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, the journalist gave the view that the Italian tactician has already brought his ideas to the club he joined in the summer after successfully implementing his vision at Lazio for a number of years.
Inzaghi took over from Antonio Conte as head coach at the Nerazzurri at the beginning of the summer, ending an association of more than two decades with the Biancocelesti, first as a player and then as a coach.
The 45-year-old had given Lazio one of the most recognizable styles of football in Italy, but Cucchi believes that even though he has only been with Inter for a few months he has already given them a similar brand.
Cucchi believes that the Lazio fans at the Stadio Olimpico should give the former coach a welcoming ovation in spite of his having departed in the summer, and sees him as already starting a similar journey at Inter.
“Inter are a bit like Lazio,” he stated. “They already have the characteristics of Inzaghi’s teams. I find Saturday’s match a stimulating one from a sporting point of view. Inzaghi’s return to the Olimpico will be an emotional one and I hope Simone will be applauded by the whole stadium.”
He went on, “I am convinced that the work of Inzaghi will pay off in the end and I am convinced that they will score a lot. I will applaud Inzaghi and I hope that the fans do too, because I am convinced that with Lazio Inzaghi had reached the maximum of what he could achieve with the players he had.”
