Ex-Inter striker Antonio Cassano has hit out at Inter CEO Beppe Marotta once again after the latter labelled him as a wasted champion, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking on Bobo TV, the Twitch channel owned by another former Inter striker, Christian Vieri, Antonio Cassano proclaimed that Beppe Marotta has never been good at his job and is just very good with the media to smooth his image.

“I told Inter I would stay if they kicked out Marotta. And they sent him away, maybe he’s poisoned for that. For that result at Sampdoria, Marotta must say thanks to me.

“I have been a phenomenon, he has never been a capable manager: the whole world of football knows this, he sells well with journalists. On a human level, Cassano does not have to learn from anyone, much less from you.”

The two have repeatedly taken aim at each other in the press with Antonio Cassano often being the more vocal of the two.

Much of the football world has praised Beppe Marotta for his work at Inter over the summer as he handled a very difficult situation very well.

He was tasked with replacing Antonio Conte at short notice, generating a lot of money in one window, whilst still creating a squad that can challenge for the Serie A title.
