Dutch football journalist Valentijn Driessen has dropped a major hint that Inter have secured the signing of Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana, according to a report in the Dutch print media.

As has been reported by Valentijn Driessen at De Telegraaf in The Netherlands, Ajax director Marc Overmars is aware that the Cameroonian goalkeeper has agreed on terms with a new team for next season.

“He has actually signed with another club. I don’t know which one, but it is certainly Inter: the rumours are very strong.

“Onana has made it known that he would like to extend, but Marc Overmars knows he already has an agreement with another team. So he definitely won’t renew.”

The journalist seems extremely confident that the team in question is Inter because they have been by far the most heavily linked with the goalkeeper who is currently serving a ban for a doping violation.

If the deal has been wrapped up already it will allow Inter to focus their efforts on other parts of the transfer market such as the striker area.

The move could spell the end of Samir Handanovic’s time at the club as he will be replaced as number one goalkeeper when Andre Onana arrives.
