It was a mixed set of games for some of Inter’s South American players in the latest round of 2022 world Cup Qualifying fixtures, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by L’Interista, Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal had an excellent final match of the international break as they ran out 3-0 winners over Venezuela.

Both of Inter’s players were involved for the entire match which could preclude them from having any major role for Inter against Lazio in Serie A on Saturday evening.

Simone Inzaghi will have been pleased to see though that Alexis Sanchez assisted two goals, albeit from the corner flag.

It was not as successful a night for Inter’s Matias Vecino who plays for Uruguay. They were handily beaten 4-1 at the Arena da Amazonia by Brazil.

Ex-Inter man Gabriel Barbosa was involved for Brazil, scoring the fourth goal late in the game.
