Oaktree could play a lead role in negotiating the sale of Inter without Suning having any power over the situation, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by Tuttosport, the sale of Inter could actually happen as soon as at the end of this season.

Owing to their worsening financial situation back in China, Suning could find themselves not in control of the negotiating part of the sale.

This is because Oaktree Management Group have a growing amount of power over the club and they could demand to take over negotiations in order to protect and enhance their asset.

Oaktree loaned €275 million to Inter during the summer which was vital to keeping the club afloat and not selling any more key players beyond Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi.

Now they seem to be growing their influence over the club and could end up as part-owners in the future.
