Denzel Dumfries: “Happy In Milan, My Next Objective Is To Score For Inter”

Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries is settling in well in Milan and he’s happy to keep working to contribute to the Nerazzurri’s season.

Speaking to Inter TV ahead of this evening’s Serie A clash with Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico, the 25-year-old gave his thoughts on his ambitions at the club and on the challenge the team would face against the Biancocelesti.

Dumfries joined Inter from PSV in August, and he did not immediately come into the team, mostly appearing from the bench as he gained fitness and got up to speed tactically.

However, the Dutchman impressed in his debut from the start against Bologna and has not looked back, showing that he has picked up life at Inter.

He still feels that he has more to do before he can settle in and really begin to show his best, but so far he is happy in Milan and happy with the progress he has made.

On this evening’s match he said, “Lazio are an excellent team, but I have a lot of faith in my teammates. We have an excellent squad with great quality, but we also have a lot of respect for our opponents who are very strong.”

He went on, “It’s always nice to play in the national team, I also scored and I’m happy for that. Now my next objective is to score goals for Inter.”

Of his settling-in process, Dumfries stated, “I’m having a lot of fun here at Inter, my teammates are fantastic, and I’m studying Italian. The coaching staff is fantastic with me. Obviously, at the beginning it takes time to settle in, it was a big change for me, but I’m happy and ready to fight.”
