Former Palermo Sporting Director Rino Foschi believes that Napoli are the favourites to win Serie A this season, but that Inter are the team behind them.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster 1 Station Radio, the former executive gave the view that Partenopei coach Luciano Spalletti could guide his team to the Scudetto, but that AC Milan were behind Napoli and Inter.

Napoli lead the way in Serie A after seven matches played, with seven wins from seven taking them four points clear of Inter and two points clear of AC Milan.

The Nerazzurri and the Partenopei will both know that they have the quality to keep pace with Spalletti’s men, but they will have to hope that the league leaders’ form drops off at some point in order to let them in.

For Foschi, the Partenopei are the team with the extra level that it will take to go all the way in the Italian top flight this campaign.

“I put Napoli in top spot, especially thanks to Spalletti,” he stated. “They are followed by Inter who are the team to beat, and then Milan who are a step back.”
