Inter President Steven Zhang has not opened up about the rumours that current Nerazzurri owners are looking to sell the club to Saudi fund PIF, but this does not mean that the sale could not be a possibility.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Libero, who report that the Nerazzurri President’s silence speaks volumes amid the rumours of a sale.

Libero reported that a sale could be close to agreed between Suning and the PIF, with some rebuttals coming afterwards in the press suggesting that Suning would instead prioritize restructuring the club’s debt to keep their ownership viable.

At any rate, President Zhang has not spoken publicly about the rumours, while Sporting Director Piero Ausilio denied any knowledge of a possible sale when questioned.

According to Libero’s report, Zhang is likely keeping quiet to avoid fuelling gossip about the club’s situation, possibly on official advice, but this silence itself could indicate that there is more going on at the club than meets the eye.
