Midfielder Marcelo Brozovic was the top performer in an Inter squad where few really impressed as the Nerazzurri fell to a 3-1 defeat against Lazio yesterday evening.

This according to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who awarded the Croat a solid 7/10 grade for his display in the player ratings for the match in today’s print edition.

Brozovic did everything he could to keep his team in control of the game and was recognized for the technical quality and authority in and out of possession he brought to midfield despite being on the losing team.

Elsewhere in the team, few players received positive scores for their efforts, with 5.5/10 scores going to Joaquin Correa, Stefan de Vrij, and Matias Vecino, while the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Denzel Dumfries, Alessandro Bastoni, and Edin Dzeko getting 5/10 grades with the Bosnian singled out as Inter’s most lacklustre performer.

For Nicolo Barella, Matteo Darmian, and Ivan Perisic the Gazzetta awarded decent 6.5/10 grades, but the overall theme of their ratings for the match was that few players besides Brozovic did enough not to be on the losing side.
