Dutch referee Danny Makkelie has been named as the referee to be in charge of Inter’s Champions League clash with Sheriff Tiraspol at the San Siro on Tuesday.

This is confirmed by the Nerazzurri on an announcement on their official site, where the complete list of officials assigned to the Champions League clash is listed.

Inter host Champions League new boys knowing that they need to get a result if they want to keep their hopes of qualifying for the knockout rounds of this year’s edition of Europe’s top competition alive, with the Moldovan side coming in as shock group leaders after they defeated Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Madrid in their opening two matches.

They now know the identity of the official to take charge of the match, with Makkelie as the head referee, Hessel Steegstra and Jan de Vries as his assistants, Joey Kooij as the fourth official, and the likes of Jochem Kamphuis and Pol van Boekel completing the all-Dutch officiating team in the VAR booth.
