Torino coach Ivan Juric has given an update on the situation of reported Inter target Armando Izzo, clarifying that the defender is not out of favour in his eyes.

Speaking in a press conference, as reported by FCInter1908, the Croatian tactician explained that he is happy with Izzo in training but that he has preferred other players in the defensive positions of his system based on what he has seen in training.

Izzo has been linked with Inter in the past, and the fact that the 29-year-old has not looked to be a significant part of new Granata boss Juric’s plans has fuelled speculation that he could be moved for by the Nerazzurri, possibly as early as January as they look to shore up their own defensive options.

However, Juric’s words suggest that there could still be a place for the defender at his current club, and that there is no rift between him and the club.

“I think he is working well,” he stated, “my preferences at this moment are different, it is a technical fact, it is never a definitive matter, even in other roles. It is always a tactical and technical choice, whoever I see doing the best plays, it is never a definitive thing.”
