Former Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli believes that the Biancocelesti must be wary of the quality in Inter’s squad when they travel to the San Siro next Sunday.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN, the 40-year-old suggested that his former side’s priority should be to avoid falling to defeat against a talented Nerazzurri team.

Juventus have been in good form for the past few matches, recovering from a bad early start to the campaign, and they now sit three points behind their opponents for next weekend Inter in the table.

After a hard-fought win against Roma, coming the day after the Nerazzurri threw away the Giallorossi’s rivals Lazio, Juventus could well be eyeing up a significant win to catch up to last season’s Italian champions.

However, Barzagli feels that the priority should be simply to get a result and to make sure that they do everything they can to restrict the Nerazzurri’s most talented players.

“In my opinion the important thing for Juve will be not to be defeated in the match against Inter,” he stated. “They have regained the solidity of the past and the guys are understanding what the Juventus world is about.”

He went on, “In front of them they will have an Inter that will have to redeem themselves, they are giving something more but they have very high quality and phenomenal players. It will be a very high-level match in a full San Siro.”
