Former Sampdoria striker Emiliano Bonazzoli believes that the Nerazzurri have kept themselves at a high level under Simone Inzaghi since his arrival as Inter coach in the summer.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the 42-year-old praised the work done by the former Lazio manager in the summer and specifically gave the view that the team have not gotten worse since his arrival.

Inter lost a Scudetto-winning coach when Antonio Conte left the club in the summer, but they moved quickly to replace him with a promising young coach in the form of Inzaghi.

The 45-year-old has started the Serie A season strongly even though there is clearly work needing to be done to find the right balance, and Bonazzoli is of the view that the team remains at a high level as the former Biancocelesti boss rebuilds the team in his preferred image and his vision for the side takes shape.

“Simone Inzaghi is doing very well,” he stated. “He has done well in maintaining the standard of performance.”
