Inter’s 3-1 defeat at the hands of Lazio on Saturday showed that they still must work on controlling games for ninety minutes and not allowing teams a route back in when they have the lead.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who stated on air that Nerazzuri coach Simone Inzaghi must find ways to sort this issue out.

Inter had looked comfortable for the first hour of the match against the Biancocelesti, taking an early lead through an Ivan Perisic penalty and subsequently restricting a strong Lazio team from creating major chances.

However, as the match wore on Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri made adjustments and they grew into the game, equalizing through a penalty of their own and going on to win the game.

Inter had no answer to Lazio’s tweaks in approach and allowed their opponents to find their rhythm and subsequently a way back into the game.

Di Marzio gave his view that “It was certainly not easy for Inter to prepare for the match, given the difficulties with the South Americans. The rules cannot be changed. But Inter has pegged been back again, and this is a defect that Inzaghi will have to work on.”
