Negotiations are ongoing between Inter owners Suning and Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund PIF on a potential sale of the club.

This according to LD Sports on Chinese social media platform Weibo, via Calicomercato.com, who report that the talks have continued about the potential sale.

Rumours of a sale being close circulated last week, with the PIF having recently published Premier League club Newcastle United and Suning’s ownership at the club far from secure given the parent company’s debt and liquidity issues.

Dismissals of the rumours followed, suggesting that the PIF were focusing on their ownership of Newcastle and that talks had come to an end despite an earlier interest by the PIF in purchasing the club.

However, the report states that the PIF are still very much interested in acquiring at that the talks are continuing with Suning about the purchase of the club and of the new stadium.

There are still some details remaining to be worked out in the negotiations according to the report, but the parties are working to find an agreement which would reportedly see the club sold for about €1 billion.
